(Moss’s Company, the “Navarro Countains”).

W.J. was the son of a Louisiana preacher. He enlisted in

Following the war, W.J. married "Elizabeth Smith"

In 1900, W.J. was where no one wants to be when the
census rolls around - in jail (Ardmore). Ten years later,
the census records that he was living in the Parks
Township of Stephens County. Five years later (1915),
at the time of his application for a Confederate pension
from the state of Oklahoma, he was living in Alma,
Oklahoma.

There is no indication of his military service on his
gravestone in the Old Velma Cemetery.
